DIVE CONDITIONS

The competition takes place at Steinbruchsee Wildschütz (Kobershainer Str. 2, 04862 Mockrehna), a former quarry lake with a maximum depth of about 74 meters, making it one of the deepest lakes in northern and central Germany. The lake is known for its calm, sheltered conditions and excellent suitability for deep freediving.

Water temperatures at the end of August typically range from 20–22 °C at the surface, gradually dropping to around 4 °C at the bottom. Visibility can vary but is usually very good.

A boat shuttle will operate between the competition zone and the shore, ensuring efficient logistics and smooth athlete transfer during the event.

accomodation

There are several accommodation options for athletes and staff:

  • Camping at the lake is possible:

    • Tent: 10 EUR/night

    • Camper/Van: 15 EUR/night

  • Nearby guesthouses and B&Bs are available within a 20–30 minute drive from the venue.

  • Rooms at the dive base guesthouse are initially reserved for staff and volunteers. If any become available, they will be offered to participants on request.

Please bring your own camping gear if you plan to stay on-site. Early booking of nearby pensions is recommended due to limited capacity.
