Additional info: Kalamata Freedivers AIDA Depth Cup - August 2023 is the third competition in the series of the events (Kalamata Freedivers Depth Cups).
The event is 4 day depth competition following AIDA rules, where you can choose the discipline you compete in each of the days (CWT, FIM, CNF, CWTB).
There is a rest day planned on the 3rd day of the competition.
Results will be published in the AIDA ranking. Athletes will also receive awards for successful dives.
The result of the event will count in overall qualification for the series.

Safety Qualifications: Head of the safety team is Nejc Likar, freediving instructor from several agencies (AIDA, AA, SSI), experienced in organizing freediving competitions (pool & depth) since 2019.
The assembled safety team are experienced AIDA instructors, who participated in several international competitions (pool & depth) as safety divers.
The competition setup will consist of motorized counterbalance system, freediver monitored on sonar, main safety diver using the scooter.
Safety plan: Safety is our main concern. The competition setup will consist of motorized counterbalance system, freediver monitored on sonar.
A group of highly experienced Safety Freedivers will provide safety at the appropriate depth for every diver. Main safety diver will be using the scooter.
Our highly effective Counterweight System gives us the possibility to retrieve divers within very short amount of time.
The Hellenic Rescue Team marine EMTs specialists will be on location at the dive site to provide initial medical support in case of emergency.
Emergency boat will be on standby with Doctor and medical equipment on board, which can bring the diver back to the shore in less than 10min.
Kalamata General Hospital and EKAB (Hellenic Centre for Emergency Assistance) will provide ambulance and medical staff for immediate patient transfer to the hospital in case of a problem.
In addition to the Kalamata General Hospital, we are in contact with the Hyperbaric Chamber of the Athens Navy Hospital in case of a problem requiring hyperbaric treatment.
