Safety Qualifications:
Safety team will be certified freediver and have attended at least one competition training session prior to the event.
Safety plan:
Safety divers will have the minimum qualifications of certified freediver and will have
attended a competition training night prior to the event.
25m Lanes will also have 2x safety divers in the water.
STA will have minimum 1x safety divers in the water.
An additional safety diver will be on standby for the warmup lane. Medical team will consist of Qualified medic, with 2x O2 Bottles per competition lane along with full first aid kit.
Facility lifeguard staff are also on standby to assist, with back up O2 and AED if
required. Competition Medical station will be set up at the pool deck next to the registration area.
Judges will signal medic in the event of a hypoxic event.
In the case of a serious event, patients will be transported to Prince of Wales Hospital
2km away or Ambulance will be called at the discretion of Medic.
Medical events manageable by medic: Loss of consciousness with quick recovery,Minor bleeding
Small wounds.
Medical events not manageable by medic:
Electrocution, Loss of consciousness with no recovery, Major bleeding, Large wounds, traffic Incidents. Organiser to contact and notify the venue of any incidents and person delegated by
medic to contact emergency services (000) if required.
