4 September 2013 Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt: William Winram of Canada descended to 145m on a sled to achieve a new world record in variable weight. William made the dive with ease following a significant training regime, including doing a constant weight record dive with bi-fins at the Caribbean Cup in Roatan.
The crew in Sharm included the Canadian safety team and William’s wife Michele Monico, along with judges Grant Graves and Pim Vermeulen.
William is a long-time Aida competitor, instructor, record-holder, and a well known shark conservationist.
We congratulate William and all who supported him in this effort. The record will be official pending doping test results.
