Belgrade, Serbia – AIDA World Championships finals continued today with Dynamic Apnea with Fins (DYN). In the men’s A Final, Goran Čolak of Croatia did another world record performance with a fantastic 281m swim, winning gold for the second day in a row. Silver went to the Ukraine, with Alexander Bubenchikov swimming 259m; Aleksandr Kostyshen took bronze for Russia with a 256m swim.
For the second day in a row, the women’s final had a dramatic finish, with two world records broken in the same heat. Ilaria Bonin of Italy swam to 233m–breaking the current world record of 225m–and just a moment later Russian Natalia Molchanova surfaced cleanly on a spectacular 234m swim to take the gold. Silver went to Bonin, and bronze to Katarina Turchinovic of Croatia for a 212m swim.
